Ministry to Adults
The trend in Christianity in the United States is to "teach the kids" and "play with the adults." At Living Faith, we are convinced that The Lord has a better plan for Christian adults than simply playing in the church softball league. He has called each of us to be lifelong students of the Bible. The word of God is an inexhaustible resource that has inexhaustible power for your eternal salvation and also your everyday life. You are never done growing and you never graduate from being His disciple. The great thing is that God continues to work new things in your life when you are in His Word.
One of the ways in which we work the Word of God into peoples lives is through the Voyager Series. These courses serve as a 21st Century boot camp to train armed, prepared, and fully equipped Christian soldiers to fight the good fight of faith in our present ministry context. The five courses in the Voyager Series are:
FOUNDATION - This 12 week course thoroughly grounds people in the Word of God and will lay a bedrock foundation for your life from the accurate teaching of the apostolic, Christian Church. This course will introduce you to confessional Lutheran teaching and is required for membership at Living Faith. This course will begin your journey at Living Faith and is offered on Sunday mornings at 9:00 A.M. in the sanctuary. A new FOUNDATION course begins the 1st and 3rd quarter (January and July).
DEVOTION - This 12 week course instructs disciples in the 4 habits of Acts 2:42. These 4 habits are are devotion to the apostle's teaching (how to study the Bible), the breaking of bread (fully understanding worship), fellowship (growing in authentic Christian fellowship), and prayer. This course will begin for you immediately after you finish Course 1: FOUNDATION.
POSITION - This 12 week course confirms people in their Baptismal identity as they face the mounting challenges of 21st century North America. Before every believer figures out "what they should do" they need to figure out "who they are." POSITION grounds people in the conferred dignity of the redeemed of God. This course will begin immediately after you finish Course 2: DEVOTION.
VOCATION - This 6 week course helps people discover their calling (vocation) from God, their spiritual gifts, and how to joyfully use those gifts in service to the Lord. This course will begin immediately after you finish Course 3: POSITION.
MISSION - This 6 week course trains people to be effective Law / Gospel evangelists in their homes and community. this course will begin immediately after you finish Course 4: VOCATION.
When you begin your instruction in the Christian faith by starting the Voyager Series, you receive
- Thorough and complete training in the apostles’ teaching.
- Your own personal Bible (ESV translation).
- FOUNDATION study materials.
- The newest edition of Luther’s Small Catechism.
- Your own copy of the acclaimed book “The Spirituality of the Cross” written by Gene Edward Veith.

Sunday Morning
9:00 AM Adults meet for Bible Study in designated areas
9:00 AM Courses of the Voyager Series meet in designated areas in Quarters 1 and 3. In Quarters 2 and 4, Voyager Series attendees gather for the Pastor’s Bible Study.
10:15 AM Sunday Worship
Wednesday Night
6:00 PM Light fellowship meal begins in Fellowship Hall.
7:00 PM Adult Bible Studies begin in designated areas
